소개 및 적용: Neon is a rare gaseous element that is primarily used in luminescent electric tubes, high-voltage indicators, and as a cryogenic refrigerant. It is chemically inert and non-flammable, and is often used in various applications such as airplane beacons, lasers, lightning arrestors, and TV tubes. Neon is also used in gas lasers and mixtures with other noble gases in Geiger counters. When ionized by an electrical current, neon gas produces a bright red color, and can be mixed with other noble gases to produce different colors. Liquid neon is used as a cryogen to produce low temperatures and has a higher refrigerating capacity per unit volume than liquid helium or hydrogen. Neon was discovered by Ramsay and Travers in 1898 and is found in the Earth's atmosphere to the extent of 1 part in 65,000 of air. It is obtained by the liquefaction of air and is considered to be primordial in origin.
